Glorified Tomato Soup

Well, I haven't made too many meals yet, but I managed to make the first dud last night. Chicken Tortilla Soup. It involved cheese soup, fiesta nacho cheese soup, tomato soup, chicken broth, and chicken. I'm sure if I had some stuff to make it more heartier it would have tasted better. This was a failure. However, I'm willing to try again is someone has a better chicken tortilla soup recipe that doesn't involve quite so many campbell soups.

Honeymoon

Well, I have finally had a free moment to download our honeymoon pictures. We took close to 350 so it took a long time for them to download! But don't worry, we separated them so each day is an album.

This is in Portland in the Casco Bay. Ironically these two small boats/ferrys are party of Casco Bay Lines. They literally carry passengers and freight to and from the surrounding small islands. We took the Sunset Run, a 2.5 hour trip out to the islands and back. It was very nice but really cold. We spent most of the trip underneath on the lower deck, and only briefly braved the cold wind.

Walking along the shore path in Bar Harbor. It has been there forever. People live in these awesome houses and they graciously let visitors walk on their property to see the coast.

This picture is the view from our Schooner ride. The Margaret Todd is the only 4 masted Schooner still in operation. It's hard to imagine that the bay was littered with boats like that at one point. Crazy stuff.

Fresh lobster. A very interesting taste, a little salty, and quite chewy.

Now, you definitely do not get these kind colors anywhere in Oklahoma. It was absolutely amazing. Around every corner it would look completely different. Sometimes there would be a lot of green and then a random bright red tree.

View of Eagle Lake in Acadia National Park. This is actually a fresh water lake because the island in which the park is on was actually created by glaciers.

And of course you can't go the east coast without seeing a lighthouse. This is the Portland Head light. We stopped by the see it on our way out of town and it was raining and everything. The waves were crashing up to the rocky edge and the lighthouse was sounding it's fog horn. It was awesome.

There's a preview of our trip, but be sure to look at the albums for more great pictures and some video too!

We went to Dayton for the Reunion last week. I took a lot of pictures, but they are mostly of my cute nephew Dominic. It's almost like you can't even tell I went to a reunion. In that case, look at my pics and then look at my parents to see the extended family.

The Last Day

Today I gave my last Interior Design Presentation for school.....ever. It went pretty well, and I am quite pleased with the way the project turned out. School as I have known it is over for me, except for one online final and preparing for my senior show. I will never step into a classroom, take an exam, do stupid reports over historic buildings, stay up freakishly late finishing a project, eat greasy but delicious food on campus, or spend every class with the same girls again.

The reality hasn't hit me yet becuase its summer anway, but come August I won't be relocating to Stillwater and buying books again. After Saturday, I won't see any of the 32 girls I've spent the last four years with in my design classes again. It's a little sad really, but i have to look forward becoming a grown up and making grown up friends. The one friend I'm truly going to miss the most is Ashley. Since we became better friends about 3 years ago, she's really become a best friend to me. We talk, rant, vent, and laugh about anything and everything. Although we are moving to separate towns there is still a chance we'll be living not far from eachother. Nevertheless she'll always be just a phone call away. I'm grateful for everything she's done for me, in support of me, encouraging me, laughing with me (and sometimes at me), but most importantly always letting me know that she'd be there for me if I needed her to be.

So, on this momentous occasion of my college graduation, I want to thank everyone for their support in my struggles, my triumphs and everything in betweeen. I thank my parents for believing and trusting me and also for paying for the knowledge and skills I recieved. I thank my brothers for their words of wisdom and open ears and for giving me a sense of carefree living each time I came home. To my friends who are just awesome. And finally to the man I will marry, Stephen. I thank him because he constantly stood by my side, was the only one who ever saw me crumble and cry in fear of failure, yet he also had the power to put me back together and laugh. He put stability in my life, took care of me, and showed tremendous love toward me.

The next journey of my life is starting to unfold. I'm ready but I'm timid and scared.

Senioritis

I have recently confirmed my diagnosis that I have senioritis. I am very contagious as is everyone else I come in contact with.

Beware...the symptons are procrastination, sleepiness, not caring, and day dreaming among other things.
However, I have been given some drugs to help with these symptons. I am very busy and therefore do not have the time to be lazy. I am kept on a strict time management schedule keeping my senioritis under wraps until graduation.

In other news, I received my cap and gown, announcements and diploma frame!!!!!
My senior show is May 4 from 4:30-7:00 and graduation is on May 5 at 10am.

peace out

American Idol

Some of you may think I'm crazy for watching American Idol, but I can assure you that it's in its 6th season and this is the first time I've ever watched it. But I haven't missed an episode yet.

Anyway...I haven't voted yet, but I'm going to start voting. Why? Beacuse tonight the top 12 were announced and the wrong people were voted off by America. So, I think since I now watch the show and am totally drawn into it, it is only my duty as a viewer to vote for the best singer!!!!

That's all I have to say about that.

Crunching numbers

I'm working on my senior studio project and let me tell you.....I'm really tired of crunching out numbers for square footage.

Scuba came up today to Stilly and got his diploma....so he's "officially" graduated now.

Someone please make the gas prices go down so I don't break my bank account with all this driving back and forth business.

I really love my new jeans and lettuce wraps.

* those are my random thoughts for the day*

Oh AND....I'm really sorry about not posting in a really long time. I will do better. Thanks for the comments!

New Job

It all happened quite quickly as I was given the opportunity to have the internship I feel that I never had. I will be working two days a week at Studio Architecture in OKC as an Interior Design Intern. I'm really excited about it, but not so excited about the drive there and back.

Stephen as had the chance to interview with Visual Image for a position in Colorado Springs. It looks to be really promising, and we have high hopes for this. So...we could be moving there...which is a little scary, but awesome!

My wedding dress is going to be in in the next month...yes!!!!!

That's all for now.

Sniffles

Reasons for my sniffles:
It was the first day of my last semester of school...however that is really exciting!!!
Stephen is not here anymore, but we can visit every now and then.
But the main reason is that I have a cold....and it's a major bummer.

What you can do to help:
Bring me chicken noodle soup :-)
Check out the new photo album.
Pray that I may have success in finding a job.
Leave comments on this blog.

I will update later when something has happened in this college town called Stillwater, America.
