Flowers and another weekend project.

Stephen sent me these flowers Monday morning to my work. It was a total surprise and I got a little choked up when I read the card. "To spruce up your new office Love, Stephen"

Right now it is snowing outside and it just looks so pretty.....but beware .....there is a 1/2 inch of ice underneath there!
And here is our weekend project that we'll have to do sometime. That's my driver side door without a handle. My car was covered in a sheet of ice yesterday. Stephen chipped away the ice to get in, pulled the handle and it just snapped right off. Now I get to climb into my car....awesome.

Thank you Home Depot

After a couple of setbacks, 5 trips to Home Depot, and an entire day of plumbing repair, we ...well actually Stephen...finally fixed our broken pipe.

Here is the before. We cut the pipe and put a compression stop on it so we could work on getting the broken pipe out of the wall. First we had to remove this random metal plate that was nailed to the stud. We pulled from the outside and realized that one end of the pipe is actually bigger than the hole so we couldn't pull it through. Luckily, we were able to finish the break off and pull one half out from outside and one from the inside.

AWESOME!!!!!

And here is Stephen's handy work!
Obviously...the hole isn't patched yet...nor is our carpet put back...our bed is still practically in the hallway...and camping out in the guest bedroom was only fun the first night.

Owning a home is awesome.

I had nothing better to do this weekend

Driving home from work I noticed my car was really dirty. When the sun hit the back window I could hardly see out of it! Because the weather was so nice I decided that I wanted to wash my car at home before the sun went down.

hmmm??

Why is the water pressure low?

Man, this is really weird.

Let's see if our hose is leaking.

Nope....

Hmm....well let's ignore our instincts and wash my car anyway.

Man...ya know...this really isn't cool. Go see if our carpet is wet inside.

Yeah...I had nothing better to do this weekend.

And now my car is dirty again.

Shooting

Stephen and I went sporting clay shooting last weekend with our friends Cara, Cory and Shanna. It was actually a lot of fun. It was probably about 38 degrees, but hey that was warm compared the 2 degrees last week. We went to a place in Guthrie that was kind of set up like a golf range I guess with different stations that you shot from. Now I had never really shot a gun before, at least not a time that I could remember. So the first shot I took I didn't know what to expect and the kick back into my shoulder totally scared me! But on my third shot I actually hit the clay! By the end of the day I had only hit 8 out of 50. But that's pretty good for a first time I think!

Anyway, It felt really great to get out of the house for a while and do something fun and different. I could actually see myself doing it again!

Merry Christmas

Instead of re-telling the story about trying to drive to my parents house on Christmas Eve. Here is a drawing depicting our 2 hour adventure that got us nowhere except back at our house for the night. Christmas just wasn't Christmas when you literally can't got to church, and when you don't get to open presents until after lunch on Christmas day. But, we do have some great stories to tell now!

We made the trek up to Tulsa to see Stephen's family and it only took us almost 2.5 hours on all the icey, snowy roads. That was the most stressful drive ever!

I drove by this on my way to work one day and it definitely put a smile on my face!

Stephen and I once again donned our New Years Eve fancy clothes and bet all our (fake) money at the Casino Night party held at our church. We bid on a baby monitor...and won! It was hilarious!
